NFL Roundup: Denver Edge Struggling Jets in Defensive Battle

During a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the late decisive three-pointer to seal the hard-fought win.

Defensive Performance Wins Contest

Even with recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after conceding a safety in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed a mere 82 total net yards during the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's short kick with just over five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Offense

In spite of their dismal performance, the Jets still had the ball with a opportunity to score a possible winning score. However Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it instead of calling on specialist Nick Folk for a long kick.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," the coach stated following the contest.
