Skydance Paramount Set to Cut Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – Update

Paramount Skydance will start significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 US jobs within a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August valued at $8.4bn.

Further international job cuts are expected, with Paramount Skydance planning to reveal complete information via its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.

Previous updates stated the firm aimed to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, the company employed almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 project-based staff.

Paramount Skydance has not yet commented regarding the report.
