The second-hand marketplace Users Express Displeasure Regarding Size Updates
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.
The second-hand shopping app has updated its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Social Media Response
Many shoppers and sellers are posting online stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping.
The company said the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces.
It has advised users to review their products and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, resulting in member annoyance.
Sizing System Updates
Earlier, the measurements included one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Member Experiences
A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
A different member, from Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she said.
Required Changes
Charlotte Lunn, located in England, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item".
"This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she explained.
Service Background
The platform boasts over 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK.
It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
